My ropes are generally 3-ply with an S twist, but can be made with the opposite Z twist if you wish. Because each rope is laid out and finished individually, many custom requests are easily accommodated. I can make up to a 4-ply rope with either S or Z twist direction.

Ropes are typically 6mm-8mm in diameter. I can do a looser or a tighter twist, depending on your needs. (Tops like the tighter ply, bottoms like the loose squishier ones, no surprise there) Tighter ones are smaller in diameter as well.

I charge $1.50 per foot (natural color; for dyed price see below), 90 foot total order minimum. A custom-made length is generally 6-10 inches longer to allow for finishing. Standard end finish is a thistle knot although I can do a regular whipping stitch or constrictor knot finish if requested.

Standard length is 30 feet, with minimum total order of 90 feet (in three 30-foot pieces).

Washing Instructions

Ropes can be either spot cleaned or washed in a machine. Place ropes in a lingerie bag and wash on gentle in cold water. If ropes are dyed, there may be some bleeding. Wash with like colors. Air dry ropes. Do not place them in the dryer as they will get all twisted up.

Cutting the rope

My rope is relatively expensive yet I don’t want any of my customers to have qualms about cutting it when the situation seems necessary.

No rope is worth more than the well-being of a person. If any of my customers (past and present) find themselves in the position of having to cut my silk rope to avoid pain and suffering please do so!

If you send me the cut parts and a post mortem of the situation I will forgo the minimum order and give a discount for any replacement rope/s.
